UL

An abbreviation for Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory.


UNDER-CANOPY SIGN

A sign designed to be mounted underneath a canopy.


UNILLUMINATED UNIT

An outdoor unit that has not been equipped with lighting for nighttime illumination of an advertising message. The DEC for an unilluminated unit is calculated using a 12 hour viewing period.


UNIT

Any outdoor advertising display.
